About the Journal

Mission: The mission of JIST is to enhance the understanding and application of information science and technology within organizational contexts. By publishing high-quality research, JIST aims to support the effective use of information as a strategic resource.

History: JIST was first launched in 2004 by the Information Institute, USA, in association with SAP. The original intent was to bridge the industry-academia gap by publishing cutting-edge research. After nine years of publication, it was suspended but later relaunched by the Information Institute in partnership with Akal University, India. The journal benefits from a rich background, built on over two decades of experience and connectivity in the field.

Scope: JIST focuses on:

  • Original research and commentary on information science and technology.
  • Interdisciplinary studies that integrate theory, methods, and empirical findings.
  • Applications of technology for organizational management and decision-making.
  • Studies that support functional and cross-functional operations in organizations.

Peer Review Process: All submissions undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review process to ensure the publication of high-quality and impactful research.
